360 degree view of Apple Grand Central only on your gyro-enabled iOS device

Now, this is a cool little tidbit, found by Mark Gurman.

You remember how Apple first added the gyroscope to the iPhone 4 back in the day (it’s nowadays found in more devices like the iPhone 4S, iPad 2 and 4th generation iPod touch)? Well, they now took advantage of that feature when you visit the Apple Store, Grand Central on their site and click on the “View More Photos” link inside the photo.

There you’ll find something you won’t find on your desktop: a 360 degree view of the new Apple store. You can look around by moving your iPhone/iPod/iPad or by using the old swipe method – but who does that?

Apple isn’t the first one to use this feature to navigate a panorama. There’s at least Occipital’s 360 Panorama app. Panoramas created with their app can be viewed using a gyro-enabled viewer too, like this one from San Francisco – again, you have to use your iPhone 4 or other device that has a gyroscope.
